Reporting to the President of Minogue Medical, the position of Health Economics and Communications – Government Relations and Marketing Advisor for Canada will be an influential health economic and patient access advisor and full business partner to various Minogue Medical and Intuitive Surgical cross-functional groups (commercial, clinical and Governmental Affairs). 

The main responsibilities of the Health Economics and Communications – Government Relations and Marketing Advisor will be to develop, manage and execute field based health economic and marketing activities.

The incumbent will advise the President and the Minogue Executive Team, as to the development, the management and the execution of the field based health economic and marketing activities. These activities focus on promoting health economic “value creation and demonstration” strategies as well as tactical go-to-market patient access plans for targeted region(s) for Minogue Medical.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

                     

  • Develop, manage and execute field based Canadian health economic and market access teams across the Canadian market.
  • Work in collaboration with the Canadian sales and executive team, ISI marketing and HEOR organizations, clinical affairs and governmental affairs organizations to strengthen the consultative perspective of this broad-based multidisciplinary team on the impact of health economic market changes and development of economic solutions that Minogue Medical products bring to various stakeholders in the Canadian market including, but not limited to: hospitals, health systems, ministries of health, public and private insurers, physicians, professional societal groups, and formalized HTA groups.
  • Create and disseminate, in collaboration with the ISI and HEOR Team, the clinical/economic materials, predictive and utility modeling, market archetype segmentation strategies and strategic industry insights to address patient access challenges; influencing clinical/economic barriers to adoption.
  • Perform evidence (clinical & economic) based “Quantify the Impact” and field based customer analytical analyses with partnered healthcare provider, ministry, physician and technology assessment organizations. 
  • Work collaboratively with ISI Global HEOR team, on the evidence development, education and direct customer dissemination on the impact of ISI technology to external decision makers during technology assessment, procurement, tendering and subsequent contracting processes,
  • Engineer regional health economic market assessments to appropriately identify stakeholder and patient access barriers, trends, customer unmet need, strategic insight, strategic imperatives, stakeholder prioritization and targeting, and potential implications of the Canadian changing market dynamics.
  • Foster and grow key C-suite relationships and potential partnerships via providing strategic economic and analytical insights with external decision makers during technology assessment, procurement, tendering and subsequent contracting processes. 
  • Provide regular voice-of-customer (VOC) feedback on clinical and economic challenges being faced by regional stakeholders and generate ideas on how our products can serve as a solution to these issues. 
  • Identify areas of synergy across the Canadian market access teams that develop and share best practices in planning, execution and integration with Canadian and global sales management groups.
  • Assist in prioritizing and sequencing appropriate targets to minimize patient access and maximize utility; in return enabling greater speed and effectiveness of commercialization activities.
  • Assist by working collaboratively with ISI Governmental Affairs organization in the development of short, mid and long-term policy and reimbursement strategies that proactively integrate and align with Canadian marketing and sales strategies. 

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (economics, science, communications) with 3+ years’ experience or an advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) with 1+ years’ experience in: market access, health economics, communications, public relations, government relations, marketing, medical affairs or market development. 
  • Healthcare medical device, pharma or hospital/health system industry experience is required. 
  • Proven track record of being recognized as a top performer within teams.  Experience working across diverse marketplaces and in an evolving healthcare environment.
  • Broad based experiences and working knowledge of Canadian hospital provider/physician/policymaking, technology assessment agencies, ministry and reimbursement challenges and trends impacting technology and patient access adoption.
  • Experience and comfort in presenting and defending evidence with key clinical and economic decision makers in meetings.
  • Experience in building, managing and leading health economic, market access, patient access and/or medical affairs teams.
  • Basic understanding of disease and clinical pathways, inpatient and surgical treatment approaches, hospital inpatient settings, product IFU and supportive health information levels of evidence
  • Provided perspective and operated analytical models, dossiers and libraries to perform real-time analyses and illustrate opportunities and impact.
  • Assisted in developing commercially accepted economic material “leave” behind.
  • Performed and oversaw country broad-based economic assessment and highlight meaningful regional influences and trends with little direction.
  • Managed regional health economic “thought leaders” and key subject matter expert relationships through interactions with hospitals, surgeons and agencies to increase economic evidence

  • Geographically located within Toronto or Montreal area
  • Must be able to regionally travel 30 to 40% of the time
