General Manager – Human Resources

Inacre is searching for an experienced General Manager to lead the site’s human resources function to achieve world-class safety performance, and deliver world-class HR services to build a high-performance workforce within a unified culture.

The successful candidate will be accountable for the following:

People

• Promote and provide a safe workplace, seek improvements, and champion the Health & Safety Program.

• Lead a motivated, efficient and engaged site HR team 

• Promote compliance with the collective agreement and sound union/management/employee relations.

• Provide site management with HR expertise and counsel aligned with business, production, and workforce objectives.

• Develop programs to ensure maximum employee performance.

• Promote timely and consistent compliance with policies, procedures and legislation that apply to employees.

• Contribute to the site’s leadership team as a well-rounded manager and participate in special projects as assigned. 

Operations 

• Prepare and implement a yearly human resources plan aligned with the site’s priorities and objectives.

• Direct the performance management, talent development and succession planning processes to meet current and long-term needs for competence and continuity across the site workforce.

• Align administration of compensation and benefits with policy to ensure consistency.

• Ensure a systematic approach to training, coaching and mentoring.

• Manage the collective agreement renewal process.

• Manage the recruitment and hiring process.

• Administer the Employee Assistance Program

• Ensure conformance with all pay equity requirements.

• Prepare budgets, manage costs, and seek efficiencies. 

• Collect/analyze data to identify trends and target improvements.

• Report systematically on trends, results, and project status.

• Enhance HR policies, procedures, and processes.

To be considered for this role you MUST possess the following:

• Education: Graduate university degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Experience: 15 years in an industrial unionized environment, with proven management experience.

• Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and best practices.

• Leadership, interpersonal and communications skills.

• Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
