As400 Application Support Lead

 We have a wonderful opportunity for an AS/400 Application Support Leader to join our team with a high profile client in Toronto.

This resource will be responsible for the following:
• Lead the Real-estate management applications Onshore/Offshore development and support teams at multiple locations.
• Leading development, support and maintenance activities of multiple applications.
• Work on tickets to support production on real estate applications
• Provide IT consulting services on variety of initiatives, perform assessment and analyze business and system needs.
• Leading design/solution for projects, tracking and resolving technical issues. Co-ordinate with multiple teams onsite/offshore including Operations and DBA teams in creating best possible solutions.
• Create, Organize and participate in implementation plan walkthrough and reviews.
• Estimation and planning resourcing, supporting testing and Implementations.
• Management reporting.
• Configuration management
• Coach and mentor team members, direct and lead them with appropriate solutions.
• Build rapport with stakeholders and interface groups with by creating professional and positive work environment.
• Run technical bridges for critical issues resolutions. Presenting senior management with solution approaches. Escalate issues on time and get them resolved.
• Build processes and best practices to improve the productivity of the team.
• Identify risks and create risk management plans
• Understand pain areas of client and manage client expectations

•Proactively analyze systems and propose automations, value additions and cost saving initiatives.

Working in onsite/offshore model and leading team located in different geographic location(s).

  • 6 years of experience in extensive applications development and management experience
  • 5 years of experience working on AS400 AND/OR VOYGER3 years of experience working with different structured and object oriented programming languages like C, C++, VB .net is a strong asset.
  • 6 years of experience managing large and critical applications
  • 5 years of experience of working on Business, Technical and Functional requirements
  • Ability to multitask projects and support activities, managing shifting priorities on a daily basis.
  • Knowledge of execution and planning, 
  • Detail oriented, enthusiastic, flexible, highly motivated and result oriented
  • 5 years of experience in implementation of Incident fixes, Problem and Change Management using tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills – motivation, influence, relationships, team building, coaching, mentoring
  • Strong communications skills including negotiation, facilitation and presentations
  • Process Design/Development/Support experience (strong asset)
  • 5 years of experience with AMS and system development methodologies, application and technical architecture design, business modeling, data modeling
  • Desirable skills:
  • Strong influencing and Communication skills
  • Adaptable to a dynamic environment Able to make quick and sound decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to lead onsite and offshore teams
  • Proven ability of Intake and delivery management.
  • Making sure that project plans comply with company guidelines, standards and regulations.
  • Constantly maintaining high levels of accuracy
  • Ability to quickly learn applications. Can translate business processes into clear and comprehensive implementation scenarios
