Business Development Manager – Calgary, Alberta

This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted September 23, 2017.

The incumbent is responsible for promoting, selling and providing service to the Financial Advisors and Distribution Alliance representatives. The Business Development Manager will seek out new business opportunities and build positive relationships with Advisors and Dealers within B2B Bank¿s distribution channels.Sells and promotes B2B Bank products in order to meet his/her sales objectives. Develops and submits an annual sales plan to achieve objectives. Deploys optimal strategies to develop, negotiate and close profitable agreements for his/her region and the organization. Establishes contacts with targeted intermediaries to promote and sell products and services. Develops strategies to promote and increase his/her region’s sales. Liaise with Head Office and Advisors to resolve customer services issues. Solves, in collaboration with internal stakeholders, any problems that could have an effect on client retention and profitability. Develops and maintains ongoing business relationships. Responds to client calls promptly and provide personalized services. Prepares and coordinates presentations and service offers. Contributes to the development of new products and services and ongoing initiatives. Occasional participation with committees or internal activities, and may be called upon to represent Business Development with various organizations stakeholders. Keeps up-to-date with current legislation and with the company¿s policies and procedures. Executes general tasks at the request of his/her superior or that may be required by his/her function. Effective execution of the sales cycle with his/her clients. Develop marketing opportunities within the assigned sector(s). Identify market opportunities and pursue desired markets and prospects within his/her assigned territory.Post-secondary school education or equivalent experience. 4 – 6 years of Sales experience preferably in the Financial Service industry (i.e. Mutual Funds, Banking or Insurance). Network within the Financial Industry in Calgary supporting, Southern Alberta (Red Deer South) and Southern Saskatchewan Strong familiarity with sales Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools and software. Polished presentation skills. Knowledge of Mutual Funds, Investment Loans, Lines of credit, Self-Directed RRSP, Deposit products and insurance, specifically segregated funds. Energetic and outgoing individual who is a self-starter and can work with minimal supervision. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Customer focused, adept at building customer relations. Strong public speaking and training experience (i.e. Toastmasters and Dale Carnegie). Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Ability to exude professionalism in high stress situations. Effective listening skills are essential. Must be open to direction and constructive criticism while being able to provide a level of professionalism. Able to handle and prepare busy presentation schedule.
