Business Development Manager, Edmonton

This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted October 11, 2017.

The incumbent is responsible for promoting, selling B2B Bank’s products and services within their assigned geographic territory. The Business Development Manager will seek out new business opportunities and build positive relationships with Financial Advisors, Deposit Brokers and Insurance Agents within B2B Bank¿s distribution channels – MFDA and IIROC members and MGAs.Sells and promotes B2B Bank products and services in order to meet sales objectives. Develops and submits a monthly sales strategy plan to achieve objectives. Establishes contact and builds relationships with targeted intermediaries through planned sales activities to promote and sell products and services. Daily tracking and logging of sales activities for reporting on results and action plans on B2B CRM system. Solves, in collaboration with internal stakeholders, any escalated issues that could have an effect on client retention and business growth. Develops and maintains ongoing business relationships with organizations and associations within the territory. Responds to client calls promptly and provides a high level of service. Prepares, coordinates and delivers presentations for client meetings, groups and conferences. Provide feedback to contribute to the development of new products and services and ongoing initiatives. Occasional participation with committees or internal activities, and may be called upon to represent Business Development with various organization¿s stakeholders. Keep up-to-date with current legislation and with the B2B Banks policies and procedures. Executes general tasks at the request of his/her superior or that may be required by his/her function. Effective execution of the sales process and sales cycle with clients.Qualifications: Post-secondary school education or equivalent experience. 4 – 6 years of Sales experience preferably in the Financial Service industry (i.e. Mutual Funds, Banking or Insurance). Bilingualism (French/English communication skills) is an asset Strong familiarity with sales Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools and software. Polished presentation skills. Knowledge of Mutual Funds, Investment Loans, Lines of credit, Self-Directed RRSP, Deposit products and insurance, specifically segregated funds. Energetic and outgoing individual who is a self-starter and can work with minimal supervision. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Customer focused, adept at building customer relations. Strong public speaking and training experience (i.e. Toastmasters and Dale Carnegie). Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Ability to exude professionalism in high stress situations. Effective listening skills are essential. Must be open to direction and constructive criticism while being able to provide a level of professionalism. Able to handle and prepare busy presentation schedule.– Must possess a valid driver¿s license and access to an automobile. – Frequent travel is required. – Must be comfortable travelling long distances when necessary. – Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required. Special Conditions: ¿ This role is based in Edmonton and will support Northern Alberta and Saskatchewan. ¿ As frequent travel is required, a valid driver¿s licence and access to an automobile is essential. ¿ Flexibility to work evenings and weekends are required (attendance to industry events such as tradeshows/conferences is required).
