Chief Financial Officer

This is a Contract position in Whitchurch-Stouffville, ON posted January 24, 2023.

Join a dynamic executive team and provide financial leadership for an organization committed to realizing a vision to provide excellent, accessible, and integrated mental health, developmental and community services Lumenus Community Services (Lumenus) was created three years ago from the amalgamation of four well-respected and long-serving, multi-service delivery agencies: Adventure Place, The Etobicoke Children’s Centre, Griffin Centre and Skylark Children, Youth and Families.

Lumenus supports infants, children, youth, individuals, and their families, with a focus on improving their development and mental well-being.

Lumenus has 600 employees and revenues of $80 million and operates from 39 locations in Toronto, North York, Etobicoke, Richmond Hill, and Scarborough.

The organization has a dynamic vision to be a modern, integrated organization committed to excellence and meeting the needs of existing and future clients.

The Chief Financial Officer reports directly to the CEO and is a key member of the senior leadership team.

The CFO is responsible for the leadership, strategic direction and operational outcomes of financial services, enterprise risk management, facilities and asset management and procurement.

The CFO will have primary day-to-day accountability for planning, implementing, managing, controlling, and evaluating the organization’s financial performance and related outcomes.

The CFO will work closely with executive leadership, the Board of Directors, and Board Committees, to ensure fiscally sound financial stewardship, and to ensure that the establishment of foundational systems and processes is completed to achieve optimal utilization of resources and strategic financial management and planning.

The CFO will establish successful partnerships with government and non-government funders, business partners and regulatory bodies.

The ideal candidate will have an accounting designation (CA/CPA), a degree (Master’s Level preferred) in Business Administration or Commerce or equivalent, ten years of proven and progressive leadership experience in strategic financial management including in a not for profit environment.

Experience in other leadership areas including enterprise risk management, facilities management, procurement, and digital strategy would be desirable.

Experience of working with a Board of Directors and its Committees (specifically finance and audit) is strongly preferred.
