– $41.83 per annum (Commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN Compensation Policy) Hours: 37.5 hrs/week Status: Temporary Full-time (1-year contract) University Health Network (UHN) is looking for an experienced professional to fill the key role of Clinical Research Coordinator I in our Cancer Experience Program.

The Cancer Experience Program was created to ensure that essential information and guidance, along with access to health care providers and specialized programs of support, are readily available to patients.

These programs take into account the special needs of diverse cultural groups and marginalized communities, as well as those with challenges related to physical or mental health, or complex cancer treatment.

The team has identified five priorities for the creation of an exceptional cancer experience for our patients.

These foundational elements, referred to as “SuNDAE” (Supportive Communication; Navigation; Diversity; Ambience and Engagement), will be established through inaugural projects that will act as building blocks for this groundbreaking initiative of the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

The Clinical Research Coordinator I role will be an integral member of the Cancer Experience program, and will provide support for the research activities associated with the Program, including related project planning and implementation.

This position offers an exiting opportunity for an extremely organized, highly motivated and hard-working individual with strong interpersonal, communication and research skills.

Responsibilities include: Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams engaged in research studies that support Cancer Experience Program in all aspects of the research process, including preparation of REB submissions, identifying, recruiting and screening study participants, preparing study documentation, coordinating data collection (including recruitment and tracking of study participants), data entry, data analysis, as necessary Assists with project planning and the management of project plans, such as: status reports, budgets and forecasting, requirements gathering, workflow and process design, implementation, process oversight and analysis Assists with producing briefing notes, communicating and presenting projects, designing project evaluations; and generating reports for and in support of executive leadership Synthesizes information, interprets and uses critical thinking skills to draws conclusions that inform recommendations for high-level decision-making Resolves problems in an expedient and efficient manner that often requires individual judgment to solve problems through making informed recommendations for the appropriate course of action Liaises with other programs and departments to ensure efficient coordination and completion of projects Coordinates the preparation and analysis of reports for distribution to internal and/or external clients Supports monitoring and analysis of budgets including revenue and expense accounts; identifies and investigate variances; implements remedial action; and processes accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely manner Establishes and maintains relationships with key internal and external stakeholders Support knowledge translation activites Performs cross-functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested Qualifications: At minimum, Bachelor’s Degree in health-related field or science-related discipline; research-related Master’s degree in health-science field is preferred Three (3) years of experience in health care research setting Knowledge of clinical research principles and practice research regulations and guidelines.

Previous experience with research ethics board submissions is required.

Experience in project management (project planning, implementation, evaluation, risk assessment) would be an asset Detail-oriented, with strong skills in data analysis and interpretation Statistical skills and previous experience using statistical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS or R) is an asset.

Qualitative data analysis skills and previous experience using qualitative analysis software (e.g.

NVivo) is an asset Previous experience with recruitment, data collection, or qualitative interviews with patients in a medical setting individuals at the end of life, or bereaved individuals is an asset.

Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude Excellent critical thinking skills; ability to evaluate situations and make appropriate judgment calls Demonstrable strategic thinking abilities Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build rapport Excellent communication skills; must be a strong writer Able to adapt to a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities and deadlines Able to work efficiently individually and as part of a multidisciplinary team Proficient in Microsoft Office applications If you are interested in making your contribution at UHN, please apply on-line.
