We have a unique opportunity for a Director
– Investments.

This position reports to the Vice President
– Investments and will play a key role in the development and implementation of Investment Strategy of the Company.

Key Responsibilities: Maintain strong interactive relationship with Investment Managers and other key partners Lead the development of periodic reporting on the investment portfolios Lead the periodic assessment of Asset Allocation for all portfolios Assist in the selection of new Investment Managers Implement strong controls around the non-discretionary investment accounts Analysis and recommendations on investment performance and the portfolio of marketable securities managed by external managers Monitor and report on internally managed marketable securities and recommend changes to the assets where necessary Lead due diligence efforts for the onboarding of new asset classes and asset managers Other activities will include providing initial assessment and analysis on private investment opportunities and working with Company management on finance related assignments and business performance assessments Additional Duties: Review the performance provided by Investment Managers on a quarterly basis Prepare portfolio analysis at the manager/fund and total portfolio level using industry recognized reporting and analytical tools Maintain a working knowledge of asset classes and the institutional asset management industry by meeting with various asset managers on a regular basis Ensure investments are in compliance with investment policy statements and established parameters Prepare summarized analysis for Company Management review Provide reports for and participate in the quarterly meetings of the company’s Board of Directors Competencies Required: Coaching talent: Provide frequent feedback, coaching and stretch opportunities to team members to help develop their capabilities Driving delivery: Establish measurable goals and track delivery of results to manage the performance of people Establishing leadership impact: Project personal confidence, building trust and making people feel energized Setting direction: Provide clear direction and priorities to ensure the team is focused on the right things and the desired ‘end state’ Persuasive influencing: Build a wide network and tailor information and arguments to different audiences to get things done Team working: Encourage teamwork and create collaboration opportunities between colleagues and teams Securing added value: Make well-rounded judgments on what will make the most effective use of budgets and resources Pushing for continuous improvement: Challenge current practices and think differently to drive improvement in processes, products and services The Director

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience: The ideal candidate will have 10-15 years of experience in investment markets Chartered Financial Analyst designation Experience with Bloomberg terminals and Thompson Reuters reporting will be considered an asset Keen interest in Investing / Financial Markets Strong comfort level with investment software and evolving technology Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, communication skills Ability to work independently Attention to detail If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, please apply with a resume and cover letter.
