About the Role: We’re seeking aDirector of Finance & Operationsto lead our back-office functions and provide critical financial oversight to the organization.

Reporting to the President/CEO, in this role you’ll oversee the financial reporting, controls, oversight, and processes of the Association, ensuring that staff are supported and positioned to drive the mission and vision of the Association.

As the organization’s Finance lead and a key member of the leadership team, you’ll play a critical role in analyzing and advising on the range of projects and scenarios under consideration.

You’re ambitious and autonomous, eager to take ownership of a broad range of operational functions – from HR and Facilities, to IT and Systems.

Key Responsibilities: Finance Direct liaison with the Board of Directors and the Finance Committee on all Finance related matters Directs the management and control of the accounting function, including asset/liability management, investment management, risk and performance management, reporting, analysis and the timely submission of all statutory filings Ownership and accountability for financial policies, procedures and controls Plan, develop and manage budgets and reserve funds Oversee the preparation of annual audited financial statements, liaise with external auditors Develop a culture of financial accountability and strategic, budget-conscious decision-making Human Resources Oversee the development, implementation and management of HR strategy, policies, processes and ensuring optimal organizational and individual performance Liaise with leadership to facilitate performance evaluations and goal setting Ensure compliance to all HR and operational policies, based on provincial and federal laws and standards Support change management initiatives across the organization, as required Accountability for facilities and administrative functions across the organization, including IT, office leasing, insurance, equipment and risk management Key Qualifications: Post-secondary education in business, finance, accounting or a related field 4 years of progressive management experience, including experience leading the finance function A skilled financial manager, with a sophisticated understanding of accounting processes and controls.

Highly analytical and attentive to detail, with a sense of urgency and a progressive approach to technology adoption and process improvement Positive, collaborative, driven and ambitious Experience working with Associations and/or Non-Profits is a strong asset Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel Comfortable with technology, including learning new software Proficient with MS Teams, Zoom and other collaboration platforms Location: Hybrid
– Ottawa based.
