POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for all aspects of tax compliance and planning for both sales and income taxes in Canada and the U.S.

Responsible for cash forecasting and optimizing cash and debt levels; assist in the development of optimal capital structure; manage debt levels andbanking relationships; manage foreign exchange exposures and risks.

•Supervise the preparation of sales tax returns (about 50 per month);
•liaise with auditors;
•prepare federal and provincial/state income tax returns; prepare tax working papers for audited financial statements;
•identify and implement tax planning opportunities;
•evaluate and adjust transfer pricing models and practices.

•Update and improve short and longer term cash forecasting models;
•Supervise the cash applications team;
•Forecast, monitor and manage cash flow and debt requirements;
•Develop optimal capital structure;
•Identify and manage FX exposures; develop appropriate hedging strategies if necessary;
•Identify and manage interest swap opportunities; manage interest level tranches within the existing debt structure; Supervisory:
•Supervises one manager and tax staff of one; cash applications staff of 4
•Staff development and career planning focus is important for this area Essential Qualifications: Minimum education : University Degree; CA highly preferred.

CMA with extensive experience; CICA in-depth tax course, or equivalent
· 5-10 years post designation experience
· Knowledge of Canadian and US income taxes.

· Transfer Pricing
· Corporate experience (experience with Canada and US branches or HO)
· Advanced Excel modeling skills.

· Strong experience with hedging Non-technical skills/abilities: strong analytical and financial modeling skills; ability to manage shifting priorities and multiple deadlines; strong organizational and communication abilities.
