Finance Business Partner, Logistics and Customer Service

The finance team at SkipTheDishes casts a wide net.

We of course own day-to-day financials, but because of our growth mindset we drive accountability and look for ways to optimize all areas of the business every day.

The Finance Business Partner, Logistics & Customer Service will work under the Commercial Finance team at Skip, partnering with leaders in the Global and Local Logistics and Customer Service teams to ensure optimal allocation of budget to drive to target KPIs for network performance and customer retention.

The outputs of your work will influence decision making and your recommendations will impact our operational strategy.

The role is very hands-on and will require a strong financial reporting background with knowledge of IFRS as well as the ability to comprehend complex business problems in order to support decision makers with actionable data and insights.

What’s On Your Plate: Understand the key drivers of growth and profitability to make recommendations that will drive the development of the business while balancing economic outcomes.

Review processing related to the weekly courier statement cycle, helping Skip execute on ad hoc projects and meet its compliance requirements.

Review month-end and annual financial reporting activities, including the preparation/review of working papers and posting of journal entries.

Drive valuable insights and influence operational leadership through ad hoc analysis and decision support on strategic investments, and optimization initiatives.

Work with the Commercial Finance Director, Logistics and Customer Service to drive accountability around operational plans and financial results.

Build, maintain, and review data-driven models to help support financial reporting and analysis activities.

Work with Global and Local Logistics and Customer Service teams to ensure optimal allocation of budget to drive to target KPIs for network performance and customer retention.

Drive efficiency in the Customer Service organization by analyzing and providing insights and recommendations on labour metrics, refund policies, and automation to deliver a seamless customer experience in order to drive long term customer retention.

Use quantitative and qualitative analysis to influence and drive alignment across Product, Operations, and Engineering teams.

Ensure that any controls related to your role or duties are being performed.

Recipe For Success: CPA designation with 4-6 years of proven operational experience.

Logical analytical problem solver that is able to spot trends and indicate the key drivers behind it.

Experience building forecasts including complex, data-driven models.

Entrepreneurial mindset that thrives in a fast-paced organization with competing priorities.

Change to the business should be expected and welcomed, ambiguity should excite you.

Strong sense of ownership and can dissect diverse problem statements into a set of action plans to drive the business forward.

Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.

Experience with SQL and/or data analysis tools (Tableau/PowerBI).

Proactive, self-motivated and curious, ability to run with an idea.

A history of building influence and consensus across the organization from peers to key stakeholders, using data-supported insights.

Bonus: Experience working with Workday Financial.
