Leading the regional Ottawa team in their overall program engagement, integrating and growing the community partners across systems of care for their clients in need in both English and French.

This rewarding career role offers a competitive salary, an enriching team setting in a growing health sector. With our NGO client, the Leader Health Equity will contribute in establishing this key function to their organization:Researches and identifies health equity models that are considered industry standard best practices.

Communicates organizational change recommendations to leadership teams for development and implementationFacilitates work groups, meetings, and action committees to meet health equity objectives.

Tracks action items and timelines to ensure deadlines are metSystemically applies and teaches the science of health equity principles and best practices.

Initiates cross-functional collaboration among leadership teams to ensure that health equity plays a role in all decision makingManages, mentors, grows, and develops teams, including succession planningDevelops and facilitates workshops and training on social determinants of health, implicit bias, institutional racism, barriers to care, health equity, poverty and strategies to shift practice in clinical settingsActs as a liaison to community stakeholders, including partners, to coordinate programs and partnerships that address health and social needs in communities, and to advance the community health strategyEncourage evidence-based research and practice Education/Experience: Master’s level degree in community health, public health, or related field or equivalent work experience.Minimum of 5 years of experience in a healthcare or clinical environmentAdvanced Adult learning/training or demonstrated understanding of various health equity topics.Demonstrated ability and track record of organizing and implementing community health policies and programsSignificant track record of building and maintaining relationships within community-based organizations, networks, and coalitionsProven project management skills, and ability to maintain high productivity amid competing priorities
