Junior accounting clerk

Aerotek

This is a Full-time position in Kitchener, ON posted June 30, 2019.

The Junior Accounting Clerk is going to be responsible for handing Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable responsibilities and payroll for the London branch of the company we’re partnering with.

Job duties include Register purchase invoices and credit notes, and match them with delivery slips, receiving reports and purchase orders; Manage and record prompt payment discounts; Reconcile monthly statements of suppliers’ accounts; Contact providers and track payments; Insure fast and accurate coding of Accounts Payables; Generate periodic payable and receivable reports; Send cheques to suppliers; Process and reconcile expense accounts and credit cards; Submit expense reports to management for approval; Be responsible for the filing and archives; Assist the Credit and Collection Department in various tasks; Compile and organize employee hours into provided spreadsheet and submit to HR for payroll processing complying with established deadlines; Work with field supervisors to ensure payroll hours are complete; The Candidate Must have 1 year experience working with Accounts Receivable, but Accounts Payable is an asset.

Previous experience with payroll or general understanding of how payroll works through schooling, Co-Op or through work experience.

Proficiency with computers, including Google programs, MS Office, and Excel.

Sage is the primary accounting program used but it isn’t necessary that the candidate has used this program.

Strong communication and experience working in a team environment as the candidate will be communicating with clients over the phone and will need to be assertive.
