Senior Manager, Family Enterprise Advisory

The opportunity

 

Our Family Office service team is growing, and we are looking to hire a Family Governance and Dynamics Advisor to support our evolving practice and drive engagements related to Family Enterprise Advisory.

 

This role is instrumental in helping with the growth and strategic evolution of the Family Office practice and to provide high-touch delivery to Ultra High Net Worth clients.

 

What you will do

The incumbent will work collaboratively and cross-functionally with internal and external key stakeholders to drive successful client delivery. The successful candidate will have a strategic mindset, an entrepreneurial spirit, a high bar for client service excellence along with a passion for working with some of the most successful business families/entrepreneurs.

 

  • Lead client discovery meetings to assess the needs of the clients and their families from a family, business, and ownership perspective.
  • Design customized tools and assessments related to the Family dynamics and governance services to suit the client’s needs
  • Lead client workshops and retreats and build customized solutions related to Family governance and dynamics services, such as succession planning, communication, conflict management, family value statements etc.
  • Lead the proposal process with the Family Office, proposal team and other KPMG Partners/subject matter experts.
  • Work closely with the Family Office Leader and Family dynamics and governance practice leader and team to contribute and implement the go-to-market strategy
  • Partner with Tax, Audit and legal professionals to provide an integrated approach to clients
  • Develop high impact client engagement materials, help coordinate client meetings, prepare detailed family meeting minutes and quarterly and annual client progress reports.
  • Acts as a client/ family liaison and provides a high-touch service in support of the Family Office client leaders.
  • Drive and support business development initiatives to build and grow the practice

What you bring to the role

  • 5-7 plus years of experience in family enterprise consulting for businesses and Enterprise/ private clients
  • FEA Designation or FFI accredited
  • Prior Human resources, coaching, conflict management, organizational development or management consulting experience is an asset
  • Prior Leadership experience, leading family enterprise/family business related client engagements and teams
  • Master’s degree/post graduate degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Behaviour, Psychology, or related field.
  • Prior experience with writing thought leadership/articles, writing detailed client reports.
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills.
  • Prior experience working with professional services firm is an asset
  • Excellent networking and relationship building skills
  • Working knowledge of financial statements, tax planning, estate planning
  • Prior experience in consulting in Human capital, Family and business advisory, facilitation, and leadership development
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Strong experience with Facilitation and leading executive meetings
  • Prior experience working with Family businesses, HNW and UHNW Client segment
  • Over 8 years in a client facing or client consulting role
  • Strong experience in Family dynamics, governance, board advisory and succession planning related field
  • Passionate to drive client service excellence
  • Able to work strategically and collaboratively across departments
  • Effective, versatile, and action-oriented
