Senior Specialist Financial Reporting – Concord, ON

Position Summary: The Senior Specialist Financial Reporting will assist in preparing financial reporting information, maintain company the accounting and reporting policies, manage the internal and external audits, coordinate upgrades to accounting and reporting policies and systems, and provide accounting information and training to the business.

Position Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation of financial statements and notes disclosures (CRH, JVs, etc).

Manage annual internal and external audits and reviews.

Coordinate resolution of accounting and reporting issues.

Manage IFRS accounting projects, such as implementation of the new IFRS 16 Leases standard etc.

Lead the implementation of accounting policy changes in SAP and other reporting systems.

Provide accounting policy expertise and training to various stakeholders within the companies (Finance, IT, procurement etc).

Research and prepare technical accounting memos on issues such as joint control, business combinations, levies, pension etc.

as required Gain a strong understanding of reporting processes in CRH financial systems, including consolidation, parent company reporting, accounting master data Minor travel may be required.

Key Competencies: Strong and demonstrated understanding of accounting principles, internal controls and other industry standards.

Strong communication and influence skills are critical to support business in interpreting accounting treatment across CRH Canada Group Inc.

Systems knowledge and interest are important to effectively utilize/leverage the SAP system in the performance of the role.

Flexibility, initiative, and drive for change are key attributes to contribute to an efficient and high-quality team environment.

Excellent analytical skills with an independent ability to recognize problems/issues and propose resolutions.

Strong team player of excellent character, able to contribute positively while striving to meet strict deadlines.

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business with a major in accounting Chartered Professional Accountant Designation (CPA-CA) Excellent IFRS reporting experience Knowledge of SOX implementation and internal controls Project management experience Understanding of accounting within the manufacturing and/or construction industry would be an asset Proficient in using MS Office applications SAP/Oracle knowledge an asset, and/or an ability to learn new systems with training Visit our website for more information: CRH Canada Group Inc.
