This is a Full-time position in Ottawa, ON posted January 24, 2020.

This Association of Professional Employees is a prominent labour union in the federal public service.

Roles and Responsibilities Provides specialized and general administrative tasks Conducts basic research, administers surveys, compiles data, and prepares drafts of papers and reports for the consideration Meeting/committee event management Travel arrangement Responsible for 1 or more functional specialist such as: mobilization, communications, education, finance, member liaison, Rand liaison, bargaining, management, governance, executive, or labour relations or others May include responding to and directing incoming telephone calls to the appropriate functional specialist or group member, opening and maintaining an electronic log of incoming correspondence and distribution of same, opening and closing case files; returning telephone calls; retrieving files, filing and returning files, providing meeting or committee event management, travel coordination, and secretariat services and other basic administrative services as required Prepares, or updates to keep current, databases and the website Prepares, or finalizes, and distributes hard copy and electronic messages, notices, training materials, and other documents to audience Serves as back-up for other Administrator-Research Assistants Qualifications and Experience Must have: Must be fluently bilingual in French and English Knowledge of the internet, of internet search tools Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite Nice to have: Knowledge of database systems Knowledge of the concepts and processes for the conduct of research Knowledge of the Treasury Board Secretariat, the Public Service Commission, the Library of Parliament, the Translation Bureau, and all other federal departments and agencies This position is starting on an 11 week contract with a strong potential of turning permanent!
