Data Specialist

This is a Contract position in North Perth, ON posted December 27, 2019.

As the Vendor Master Data Specialist, you understand the importance of data quality to business operations and will strive to create and maintain every piece of master data in line with our quality standards.

Activities will include responding to business requests to create or maintain master data according to our policies & procedures, carrying out master data cleansing activities to improve the overall accuracy and quality of our master data, and updating our standard operating procedures and documentation.

You are great at:
• Ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and completeness.

• Following policies and procedures to ensure the highest data quality, understanding the impact that data quality has on cross-functional business units.

• Thinking through requests and asking any questions to ensure a complete understanding before actioning and responding.

• Initiating and carrying out data cleansing activities.

• Writing standard operating procedures and training documentation.

• Identifying, reporting and resolving data quality issues through root cause analysis.

• Clearly communicating in written and verbal communications.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and business-related work experience totaling 3-5 years.

• 2 years’ experience working with SAP or a similar ERP for maintaining master data, OR, within the Procure to Pay (P2P) business function (specifically AP) with an understanding of how master data affects that business function.

• Knowledge of global banking data as it relates to making successful payments.

• Experience using Excel to perform data operations, e.g.

working with data types, vlookups, pivot tables, etc.

• Experience with ticket management for incoming requests.

• Attention to detail and accuracy in your work.
