Liburdi Turbine Services provides mechanical and metallurgical engineering services specifically tailored for the gas turbine industry. This allows us to perform an independent analysis of problems and, where required, to modify or redesign components. Our expertise lies in the fields of aerodynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, stress analysis, metallurgy and mechanical design as they apply to aircraft and land based gas turbines. The role of NDE Inspector reports to the Manufacturing Manager. We have two (2) positions available on our 2nd shift (Monday to Friday, 3:30pm-12:00am).

Typical Duties Include (but are not limited to):

  • Liquid penetrant inspections (LPI)
  • Radiographic testing (RT) – X-Ray Conventional Film and Digital
  • Ultrasonic thickness testing (UT)
  • Sample preparation
  • Interpretation of NDE specifications
  • Disposition of materials in writing
  • Visual, non-destructive and dimensional inspections (vernier calipers, height gauges, dial indicators etc.)
  • Quality assurance testing and reporting
  • Tracking material status
  • Performing other testing requirements during various states of the repair process
  • Working to defined standards and methodologies
  • Applying test criteria

Key Skill Requirements:

  • Excellent visual accuracy skills
  • Strong Inter-personal and inter-departmental communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment
  • Understanding of engineering specifications, drawings and written reports
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to effectively follow health &safety and quality processes and policies

Key Requirements/Assets:

  • Graduate of a 2 year college level program in Mechanical Engineering Tech – NDE or similiar program an asset
  • Minimum 2 years’ work experience in NDE is required
  • Level 2 NDT Certification (CGSB/ASNT) or background enabling the attainment of certification is required. NAS410 qualification an asset
  • Interest/experience in the nuclear or aerospace industry preferred
  • Familiarity with ISO quality systems an asset
  • X Ray inspections is an asset
