Machine Operator

Our client, A leading industry electronics manufacturer, is seeking a SMT Operator to join their team. As a Machine Operator, you will be controlling the day-to-day operations of the automated assembly line. The ideal candidate will have experience in running SMT Machines, Excellent Computer skills and be mechanically inclined which will align successfully in the organisation.

Job Title: Surface Mount Technology Operator (Machine Operator)

Location: Carleton Place, ON

Pay Rate:  $19.00 / Hour (+10% premium for night shift)

Day Shift: 7:00 am – 4:00 pm (Monday to Friday)
Night Shift: 3:30 pm – 01:30 am (Monday to Thursday)

What’s the Job?

• Setting up and operating automated assembly equipment in a fast-paced electronics assembly environment.
• Work with members of the process support team in troubleshooting equipment and processes to solve defect problems and improve efficiency.
• Verifying setups and part replenishments using tools and forms provided.
• Operating stencil printing equipment and monitoring performance of the equipment.
• Operating reflow ovens and monitoring performance of the equipment.
• Hand placing, modifying, and manipulating components as required during production.
• Collect production data as required via manual and electronic means.
• Perform thorough first-off assessments for products being manufactured.
• Train and support new staff as required.

What’s Needed?

• High School Diploma
• A college diploma or university degree, preferably in a technical field is considered an asset.
• Ability to perform detailed work.
• Prefer at least 1 year of experience operating pick and place equipment.
• Prefer at least 3 years’ experience in an electronics assembly environment.
• Must have own vehicle and licence (location only accessible by car) 

Physical Requirements

• Long periods of standing in place.
• Lifting of a minimum of 15 lbs. is required. Lifting is generally at or below 30 lbs. without significant repetitions.
