Senior Consultant in Construction and Civil Engineering

Examine Construction Consultants is currently seeking a qualified candidate for a Senior Consultant position in Montreal related to the preparation and analysis of claim files in construction, project controls, and project management.

The expert consultant will be part of a young and dynamic team, composed of senior and junior experts. The team’s mission is to provide professional services and expertise within the construction industry. 

The ideal candidate for this position will have extensive experience in the preparation and analysis of construction claims, project controls, and project management. The consultant will lead the expertise in client advisory, change management, information management, schedule management, and litigation prevention. A support/coaching role to the junior team is also required.

As a Senior Consultant, you will be expected to:

• Assist in the management of mandates
• Evaluate and develop construction claims
• Prepare expert reports
• Identify issues affecting the execution of works and the associated impacts on costs and schedules
• Perform delay and cost analysis
• Evaluate construction schedules
• Evaluate and audit construction costs
• Evaluate and develop project management processes
• Provide clients with consulting services regarding change management, information management, schedule management, and dispute prevention

Education and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Building Engineering, or Architecture
• Member of Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) possessing an engineering license (asset)
• 8+ years of experience relevant to the tasks described above
• PMP designation or other relevant qualification (asset)
• Advanced software knowledge including, among others, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and database sorting/handling
• Knowledge of scheduling software (Primavera and MS Project) and experience in preparing and analyzing schedules (asset)
• Work experience in a consulting environment
• Experience in managing a team
• Experience in managing client relations and developing new business opportunities (asset)
