Intermediate electrical designer

This is a Full-time position in Sarnia, ON posted June 30, 2019.

Employment Contract to Perm of Openings 1 Classification CAD IndustryDesign/Drafting Design Group Staffing Oakville is currently seeking an Intermediate Electrical Designer for our client, an EPCM firm in the Sarnia, ON area.

Oil & Gas project experience is required.

This position is starting off on a contract basis.

Responsibilities Design of electrical layouts for cable raceways, lighting, electrical grounding and light protection systems, substations, E-Houses, and heat tracing elements Design and develop low voltage and medium voltage single line/ 3-line diagrams Prepare equipment list and load list Design electrical heat tracing system and prepare bill of materials Design and develop control schematics for motors, switchgears and plant lighting systems Prepare cable schedules and termination drawings in consultation with single line diagrams and vendor drawings Prepare electrical area class drawings Qualifications 6 years of experience in the oil & gas industry Degree or diploma in Electrical Technology Must have field experience in operating facilities Must be able to handle multiple responsibilities and projects in order to effectively meet deadlines Knowledge of CEC and NEC codes, hazardous area electrical systems and API-505 standard Proficient in current release of AutoCAD, Plant-3D, and Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel) Understanding and efficiency with standard design and drafting practices Expertise in E&I design practices for the heavy industry (oil and gas, chemical, power or mining industries) Familiar with low voltage switchgears and switchboard If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity and you meet the requirements above, please submit your updated resume in MS Word format to the attention of Caillie Kelman via email at [Click Here to Email Your Resumé]
