Mongodb database designer

BullsEyeTechnology Recruiting Inc.

This is a Full-time position in Ottawa, ON posted June 24, 2019.

Position: MongoDB Database DesignerTarget Contract Rate: $ Market RatePosition Type: 6-12 Month ContractLocation: Ottawa, ONJob Order: 5568 Company : Our Multi-National Professional Services client is looking for a MongoDB Database Designer.

BackgroundThe Data Foundation project focuses on laying foundational work to data through a series of strategic and tactical activities to develop service oriented architecture (SOA) and APIs to support new business initiatives, leverage the cloud and integrate a new document type DBMS.Data is currently managed through a suite of custom applications designed and implemented nearly 20 years ago using technology and an architecture that is now outdated and, in a number of cases, unsupported.

Over time, the applications have been updated to integrate several key business functions through a set of discrete extensions and improvements.

However, this development has been driven by pressing and urgent needs rather than by a strategic, long-term view.

As a result, the architecture and application capabilities have lagged behind important developments in information technology, such as loosely coupling of components, the evolution of business intelligence and predictive analytics to support better management decision making, and the shift to open source components, mobile devices and cloud-based computing.Data is currently segregated by region across 5 data centres and then replicated to central databases for consolidation, interface processing and extracts for ancillary systems, external systems, the data warehouse, and business continuity.

Information sharing with internal and external partners is supported using a complex array of unique point-to-point mechanisms which have created tight dependencies between applications and data systems, making it difficult to scale, and hard to update, manage, monitor, and troubleshoot.Tasks
