Adecco is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Assistant Site Superintenden for our our client who is a leading High rise Developer specializing in highrise projects within the Toronto region. As we continue to grow and undertake exciting new projects, we are seeking an experienced Assistant Site Superintendent to join our team and contribute to our continued success.

Job Overview: As an Assistant Site Superintendent at my client, you will play a vital role in assisting the Site Superintendent in managing all aspects of the construction site, ensuring the successful execution of highrise projects in the Toronto region. You will work closely with the construction team to oversee and coordinate daily activities, monitor progress, and maintain the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  1. Project Support: Collaborate with the Site Superintendent to plan, schedule, and coordinate construction activities, adhering to project timelines and budget constraints.

  2. Site Management: Assist in the day-to-day management of the construction site, ensuring all activities are carried out in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

  3. Quality Assurance: Monitor the construction processes and workmanship to ensure that they meet industry standards and project specifications.

  4. Subcontractor Coordination: Facilitate communication and coordination among subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site personnel to maintain a smooth workflow.

  5. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project progress, daily logs, safety reports, and other essential documentation.

  6. Safety Compliance: Promote a culture of safety on the construction site and enforce safety protocols to minimize accidents and ensure a safe working environment.

  7. Problem-Solving: Identify and address potential issues or delays promptly, offering practical solutions to keep the project on track.

  8. Quality Control: Conduct inspections and walkthroughs to ensure construction meets quality standards and make necessary recommendations for improvement.

  9. Reporting: Provide regular updates to the Site Superintendent on project status, challenges, and milestones.

  10. Professional Development: Stay updated on industry best practices and construction technologies, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an Assistant Site Superintendent, specifically on highrise construction projects in the Toronto region.

  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with building codes, construction methods, and industry standards relevant to highrise projects.

  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and support on-site teams.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration and reporting.

  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Problem-Solving: Proactive and adept at identifying and resolving issues quickly and efficiently.

  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements.

  • Computer Proficiency: Proficient in using construction management software, MS Office, and project scheduling tools.

  • Safety Focus: Demonstrated commitment to safety practices and creating a safe work environment.

  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in construction safety (e.g., OSHA) are desirable.
