Clinical Psychologist


This is a Part-time position in Toronto, ON posted February 10, 2019.

The Role:

Medcan is recruiting for a licensed Clinical Psychologist to join our high-performing and fast-growing team of clinicians within our Live Well Mental Health program. The Clinical Psychologist will have the opportunity to see clients for ongoing care in private practice.

The Accountabilities:

  • Conducting independent psychological assessments; providing diagnoses and recommendations for ongoing treatment as appropriate
  • Developing and communicating client-centered treatment plans that meet both client goals and address the client’s psychosocial and behavioural challenges
  • Providing empirically validated treatment measures; training and experience in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy an asset
  • Collaborating with the client’s existing treatment team to coordinate care
  • Maintaining documentation as required
  • Provide exceptional client experience and client centred care
  • Follow Medcan procedures for all documentation, timelines, coordination with internal teams and follow up care
  • Adhere to standards of best practice

The Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology or Psy. D
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Psychologists of Ontario
  • Minimum 3-5 years clinical experience with adults, preference working with executives
  • Declared competency in Health Psychology an asset
  • Demonstrated skills with cognitive-behavioural treatment of adults and/or other effective evidence-based practices
  • Superior organization and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strict adherence to the College of Psychologists of Ontario’s Standards and Professional Conduct
  • Professional references
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to respectfully and tactfully interact with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word and Outlook

This is an Independent Contractor role scheduled for 2-3 days per week during Monday through Sunday. The role reports to the Vice-President, Live Well programs with clinical oversight from the Clinical Director, Psychology.
