Our Information Technology Teamis looking for a Systems Administrator / Virtualization Specialist to work with the Systems Administrators to assist with network management.

Reporting to the Systems Team Lead,the Systems Administrator/ Virtualizations Specialist will become an integral part of the Infrastructure team.

This position is located in Ottawa.

Job Responsibilities Create, deploy, and maintain network and server infrastructure that relies on VMware products such as vSphere and vSAN.

Install computer infrastructure, which encompasses hardware, servers, and virtual machines, using vSphere VMware environment; Monitor systems daily and pinpoint problem areas; proactively design and install upgrades, releases, and application patches; update drivers, servers, and firmware with newer technology.

Manage the company infrastructure servers and networking equipment; Participate ininfrastructure planning by gathering system data, researching possible solutions, developing and presenting their design ideas, and thoughtfully evaluating suggestions from others.

In addition, evaluate industry trends and assist in implementing standards and best practices; Create and maintain documentation for all system-related processes and procedures, including project requirements, changes and upgrades, implementation plans, and support tickets.

Create summary reports for internal management.

Setup, configure and support Cisco & HP network switches andWatchGuard firewalls Monitor and maintain all servers, physical or virtual, Windows or Linux OS; Setup and administer server virtualization solutions (VMWare ESXi 6.X) Configure and administer Windows DFS server, File servers, and Group Policies Experience supporting HP 3PAR Storage, HP Store Once Configure and administer Windows Active Directory Maintain a Windows Terminal Services Management, Remote Desktop environment Monitor and maintain Microsoft Exchange 2013 and 2019 Configure and maintain Carbon Black, Zerto replication, Veeam Backup, Solarwinds NPM, and WatchGuard XCS Participate in various IT projects Work on IT tickets as needed Participate in rotating 24/7 on-call support Travel to our various locations will as required Required Skills University degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related VMWare vSphere and vSAN – minimum 3 years hands on experience VMWare certification would be an asset Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Systems Administrator Experience working with Microsoft Remote Desktop Services in a Windows Server 2008/2012/2016/2019 environment Microsoft certification would be an asset Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is required Experience working with Cisco routers/switches and/or HP network switches, and WatchGuard network firewalls is required Solid understanding of network troubleshooting and monitoring tools (including SSH, telnet, Solarwinds Network Performance Monitor) Experience working with a SAN (iSCSI, HP 3PAR, HP Store Once) Understanding of networking topology & protocols, including LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN Excellent problem solving, analytical skills, technical skills and attention to detail Solid planning and organizational skills including the ability to plan, coordinate, prioritize and monitor a number of responsibilities Ability to work independently and in a team Ability to positively communicate both verbally and in writing We thank you for your interest in Medical Pharmacies Group, only select applicants will be contacted regarding the position.
