Job title :OPERATING ROOM NURSE Community :PENTICTON Facility :PENTICTON REGIONAL HSPTL Status :RELIEF FULL TIME Position Summary Interior Health’s Penticton Regional Hospital invites applications for the role of Registered Nurse (RN), Operating Room.

PRH is looking for a knowledgeable Perioperative prepared RN with experience in the delivery of client-centered care that has assisted individual clients and their families respond to changing health care needs.

PRH is a 155-bed Acute Care facility in the Okanagan Health Service Area and responsible for providing core medical and surgical specialty services to surrounding population of approximately 90,000 people.

PRH currently runs five operating rooms, one of which is a procedural room to provide services for urology, ENT, general surgery, orthopedics, OB/GYN, chronic pain and uncomplicated pediatric cases over 2 years.

There are two OR theatres at the Summerland Health Centre where services are provided including pediatric dental.

As a member of the PRH Operating Room team, you will coordinate and oversee the overall care of the client and set priorities, provide clinical expertise and leadership for the plan of care, plan and implement health care treatments and interventions, and assign and delegate tasks as appropriate to other members of the healthcare team.

Reporting to Manger, Clinical Operations Operating Room, you will draw upon your ability to establish therapeutic relationships through the use of effective interpersonal and interviewing techniques, ensuring client choices and autonomy in decision making and care planning.

This position is to provide coverage until November 2021, or the return of incumbent.

Shifts will be scheduled Days and Evenings with on-call associated with the evening shifts.

This position is eligible for our comprehensive benefits plan that includes coverage for basic Medical Services, Dental Services, and Extended Health.

Hourly rate of pay is to be determined by relative and recent prior work experience.

Relocation Allowance package may be offered with position.

Facility Details: PRH offers 24-hour Emergency and Trauma Services, Acute Services, Ambulatory and Out-patient Clinics, and Diagnostic/Paramedical Services.

As a regional facility and secondary referral centre for the South Okanagan and Similkameen Valley, you will be joining an excellent complement of medical specialists and rehabilitation professionals.

Excellent radiology availability with on site Computed Tomography (CT) and part time Medical Resonance Imaging (MRI).

PRH has a seven-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

PRH also serves as the referral base for hematology/transfusion medicine for the smaller local hospitals in Oliver and Princeton.

In April 2019 PRH opened phase one of its new, state of the art Patient Care Tower.

The Patient Care Tower includes a brand new ambulatory care centre, surgical services center, 84 medical/surgical inpatients beds in single patient rooms, a new medical device reprocessing unit and space for the UBC Faculty of Medicine Program.

Phase two is now underway and will involve the renovation in the current hospital to allow the expansion of the emergency department four times its current size.

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP).

• Advanced preparation in the clinical specialty of Peri-operative Nursing.

• One year recent related clinical experience in the assigned practice environment on an operating room similar in size and scope to the facility or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
