Position: Pharmacy Assistant

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Location: Toronto, ON

Are you looking for a permanent full time position in a supportive work environment? Our client is looking for a Pharmacy Assistant to fill a position in Toronto, ON. You will work 40 hours a week with a great team maintaining company standards.

You are expected to be detail orientated to support the team in day to day operations helping professional pharmacists, and to follow pharmacy law and be proficient in medical terminology. In this role you will be responsible to provide superior patient care, communicate with the customers over the phone and in- store to address customer service issues.



  • Execute standard procedures for mixing, packaging and labeling pharmaceuticals to ensure quality.
  • counsel customers on the use and effects of pharmaceutical drugs, and ensure the accuracy of prescriptions.
  • Instruct patients regarding directions for taking medications.
  • Work alongside healthcare professionals to plan, monitor, and review the drugs.
  • Dispense prescribed pharmaceuticals to customer and communicate the dosage amount, adverse effects and other important indications.
  • Verify patient information before filling a prescription and up keeping customer’s medication profiles.
  • Maintain pharmacy stock trough inventory control system verifying supplies and purchase orders.
  • Complete new and updated patient profiles, including lists of patient medications in the computer system.
  • Provide a professional and confidential environment for all customers.
  • Ensure compliance to company policies and procedures, professional standards and applicable laws and regulations.


  • College Diploma in Pharmacy
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in a pharmaceutical environment
  • Proficiency in Fill Ware will an asset
  • Discretion in handling confidential information
  • Ability to work productively in a fast paced environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills , and interpersonal skill
  • Ability to work independently and within the team
