Are you an experienced practitioner with strong clinical experience, and a background/ training in the assessment and treatment of trauma, grief/loss, and mood/anxiety-related disorders? CBI Health Group is seeking a part time or full time Psychotherapist for the CBI Health Centres across the Brantford and Cambridge areas. As a registered psychotherapist you will contribute to CBI’s purpose and values by supporting a strong multidisciplinary team of like-minded peers.


As a Psychotherapist, you will: 

  • Provide psycho-therapeutic assessment and treatment to individuals and family members presenting with a wide-range of mental health symptoms and disorders.
  • Be responsible for working effectively and collaboratively with a team of clinicians to provide concurrent treatment that supports clients getting back to their normal living activities and daily functioning (including returning back to work).
  • Support clients with disabilities and/or injuries sustained from work or auto-related accidents.
  • Provide detailed written reports and verbal updates of treatment progress to health funders including insurance adjusters, rehabilitation consultants, and disability managers.
  • Form and establish a therapeutic relationships (core to the clinical treatment) with clients and their families.
  • Utilize effective and clear communication skills.
  • Provide sound clinical acumen and ethical judgment.
  • Make appropriate and effective use of self in clinical treatment.



To take on the role of Psychotherapist, you must:

  • Be a full member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists in Ontario (CRPO).
  • Have a Masters degree in counselling psychology-related discipline.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience as a psychotherapist.
  • Be experienced in the assessment and treatment of a wide-range of mental health symptoms.
  • Have clinical knowledge in the area of trauma, grief/loss, depression, anxiety and addictions
  • Possess experience working with traumatic brain injuries/concussions, and clients making the transition back to work.
  • Have high familiarity in delivering a variety of different clinical modalities within both short-and-long-term intervention plans.
  • Be comfortable in collaborating and communicating within an interdisciplinary team.
