The Medical Supplies and Reprocessing Clerk ensures we have adequate supplies, well maintained equipment and implements infection control procedures in the clinic.Reporting Relationship The Medical Supplies and Reprocessing Clerk is directly accountable to the Health Services Director for the carrying out of his/her duties, and through the Director of Health Services to the Executive Director.RequirementsSkills, Education and Experience Requirements for this position includeEducation and Language High school graduation diploma or equivalent Current Basic First Aid certification or equivalent Under the Centre’s designation to provide French Language Services, this position is not designated.

Fluency in English, both oral and written Fluency in oral French an asset Professional Experience Minimum of two years clerical experience in a medical environment Experience reprocessing medical equipment Experience working with a broad range of populations, including youth, street involved, people with or at risk of psychiatric disability, people with substance use disorder, multi-cultural communities and disenfranchised groups Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills Effective communication skills Ability to work under stress with multiple demands and unpredictable days Ability to be flexible, cooperative and work as part of a team Ability to work autonomously Knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) primary care standards and guidelines Ability to deal effectively with a diverse community of all ages and hard-to-serve clients Proficiency in the use of computers and various software applications Demonstrated flexibility, good judgment, tact, initiative & creativity Respects and values the diversity of communities and individuals Sensitivity and alertness to signs of a client in crisis Pays attention to detail Excellent telephone manner BenefitsSandy Hill Community Health Centre offers employees an excellent benefits package which includes four weeks holidays in addition to a Pension Plan (Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan HOOPP) and excellent Group Insurance Plan.Conditions of Employment Hours of work will be developed in collaboration with the successful candidate to ensure a healthy work-life balance.
