Job Title: Human Resources Coordinator

Salary Level: Level 5

Salary Range: $41,632.50 – $55,950.60 (annually)

Hiring Range: $41,632.50 – $46,857.75 (annually)

DESCRIPTION of DEPARTMENT: The Human Resources Department plans, directs and delivers all HR management activities to maximize the strategic use of human resources through the development and implementation of programs related to but not limited to; compensation and benefits, recruitment and selection, on-boarding, training, performance management, personnel policies, health and safety, HRIS administration and information management by maintaining regulatory compliance.

PURPOSE of the JOB: Reporting to Human Resources Manager the HR Coordinator will support in the implementation of HR programs and policies for a number of functional areas in Human Resources, specifically recruitment; orientation; benefit administration; training; HRIS administration and information management. He/She develops and implements filing systems and processes to ensure the integrity of information managed by the department. He/She responds and provides guidance to staff across the organization on HR policies, procedures, processes and other HR related issues. He/she will develop and/or implement HR projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business Administration or related discipline from a 4 year College or University required. CHRP/CHRL designation and HRPA membership would be an asset. Three to four (3/4) years relevant work experience in recruitment; benefits administration; employee relations; health & safety. Experience with HRIS systems and information resources to be able to take on one-off projects/tasks assigned from time-to-time. Knowledge of applicable legislative requirements such as the Employment Standards Act, 200; AODA; Health & Safety; Human Rights Act. Must have excellent organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Must be detail-oriented, proficient and able to work with minimum supervision. French would be an asset.
