EMR Vendor Engagement Lead

The EMR Vendor Engagement Lead will maintain active engagement with EMR vendors of Certified EMR Offerings to support the objectives of proof of concepts, pilots and the EMR Certification Program. Proof of concepts and pilots seek to demonstrate clinical outcomes and technical requirements for emerging EMR optimization solutions and assess change management impacts for broader provincial deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain relationships with EMR vendors throughout proof of concepts and pilots

  • Development or contribute to scope of work and EMR vendor procurement activities
  • Lead ongoing communications with EMR vendors and proof of concept related events and activities
  • Issues management and escalation
  • Milestone and deliverables tracking and payment
  • Manage design checkpoints with EMR vendor

Coordinate and ensure alignment of certified EMR Offerings to technology requirements

  • Participate in the development and collection of EMR requirements and subsequent alignment to EMR vendor EMR Offerings
  • Coordinate feedback and refinement of requirements

Coordinate and ensure alignment on the project requirements validation activities

  • Manage ongoing investigations related to alignment to the project requirements
  • Coordinate testing activities with EMR vendors, OntarioMD EMR Validation resources and partner organizations.
  • Participate in development of EMR Validation process

Works closely with other members of the Certification Program

Works closely with the OntarioMD Product and Delivery program and other delivery partners to ensure EMR vendor alignment with proof of concept objectives

  • Coordinate consolidation of detailed schedule of EMR vendors to overall plan

Develop, manage and report on key performance measures for proof of concept activities:

  • Monthly reporting to management on EMR vendor engagement activities
  • Monthly reporting to management on activities, compliance, adoption and proof of concepts
  • Updating OntarioMD portal and corporate information management system

Manage or support implementation and deployment activities

  • Coordinate EMR vendor approach to user training and support including demonstrations
  • Support OntarioMD resources and EMR vendor on User survey / Benefits Analysis activities

Knowledge & Experience Required:

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Health Administration and/or Information Technology or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of direct experience working in the Ontario digital health care, with emphasis on Community Care, EMR vendors, and EMR products
  • Prior knowledge and experience with vendor management in digital health
  • Prior knowledge or experience with the Ontario EMR Certification Program
  • Broad understanding of the Ontario EMR landscape and integration with Ontario EHR Solutions and Services
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, able to adapt to the needs of a variety of audiences and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic / fast paced environment, establish priorities and meet tight deadlines
