Financial Analyst – Financial Services

– Corporate Billing & Accounts Receivable & Registration (CBARR) Reports to: Supervisor of Patient Accounts and Billings Hours: 37.5 hours per week Salary/Rate: $47,989
– $59,982 per annum Status: Permanent Full-Time UHN Corporate Billing & Accounts Receivable & Registration (CBARR) is a high-volume, fast-paced department responsible for revenue through billing and collection.

The Financial Analyst plays a key role in supporting the management of patient billings and collection contributing to revenue and cash flow maximization.

This role will focus on our OHIP/Healthcare billing portfolios; it will include performing regular weekly and monthly submissions, error corrections and reporting.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide Subject Matter Expertise on responsible insurers Monitor and stay current with the Ministry billing guidelines in relations to the OHIP portfolio.

Review, evaluate and submit billings for the Out of Province Portfolio Update or escalate to management with regards to changes that impact workflow or revenue; participate in system testing should it require a change in the system Assist with audits Ensure Accurate and Timely Billing Liaise with insurers, patient, support workers, and clinical team in a professional manner Work closely with a variety of different stakeholders in order to assure the timely reception and submissions of billing files Review the accuracy of patient data including chart review prior to billing Timely invoice submission Ensure Timely Collection Maintain healthy aging portfolio by following up persistently on overdue accounts Review Payment Summary Investigate rejection timely to rebill or appeal as appropriate to minimize write-off Perform cross-functional duties consistent with the job classification, as required Reporting Duties Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports/materials for audit committee.

Perform ad-hoc financial reports when requested for special projects Other Analyst duties will be requested as required QUALIFICATIONS: Required Qualifications: Completion of a Business Administration or Accounting diploma OR equivalent relevant experience Knowledge of fundamental accounting practices and principles Knowledge of Access and Crystal reports Proven self-learning and initiation skills; work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities under stressful conditions to meet tight deadline with minimal direction Excellent interpersonal and communications skills both verbal and written Demonstrated commitment to customer service and satisfaction Excellent attention to detail with proven analytical and problem solving skills Ability to identify gap and propose solutions Computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, with an aptitude for learning new computer applications quickly Ability to discuss Financial coverage with patients and/or family members Preferred Qualifications: Experience in healthcare billing Knowledge of Medical Terminology Flexibility with work schedule Experience Infor Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (HRCM) POSTED DATE: June 03, 2021 CLOSING DATE: Until Filled For current UHN employees, only those who have successfully completed their probationary period, have a good employee record along with satisfactory attendance in accordance with UHN’s attendance management program, and possess all the required experience and qualifications should apply.
