Frontend Software Engineer

This is a Contract position in Markham, ON posted June 27, 2019.

Translate UI/UX design wireframes to code that will produce the desired elements of the web application.

Strengthen frontend design and implementation processes to improve quality and efficiency.

Construct quick interactive prototypes to demonstrate your UI design Implement responsible web design principles to ensure that application renders well across multiple platforms.

Adhere to best practices including SCRUM processes, code modularization, code reusability and coding standards.

Collaborate to improve existing architecture, define new architecture patterns, and research tools and processes to enhance quality and user experience.

Identify and forecast risks and propose mitigation strategies within your domain.

Participate and be effective in code reviews, both giving and receiving feedback.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field or the equivalent in education and experience is required.

4 to 6 years of experience working as a Frontend Developer is required.

Minimum 5 years of experience with web application frameworks (Vue.js, Vuex) is required.

Expert understanding of ES6, TypeScript, Bootstrap, Webpack, HTML5 and CSS.

Deep understanding of the end-to-end iterative UX process, including personas, scenarios, wireframing and prototyping.

Solid understanding of Design Thinking principles.

Experience with Git.

Strong understanding of how HTTP works as it applies to RESTful architectures.

Writing object oriented / modular code is an asset.

Critical thinker, problem-solver, team player with good interpersonal skills.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex technical issues to all level team members.
