Hardware Store Associate

GrandErie Home Hardware Building Centre

This is a Full-time position in Dunnville, ON posted June 18, 2019.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Greet customers with a welcoming acknowledgement Assist customers with product information Be on constant lookout for new opportunities Execute computer generated quotations, decks replacement windows, exterior doors etc.

Actively sell countertops, interior doors, windows and all other LBM related products Assist with sale of special-order products, such as flooring, storm doors, cedar products, cabinets, plywood products.

Ongoing inventory support on inventory SKU’s including additions and deletions Support new product lines Maintain adequate shelf stock regularly Attend training seminars and Home Hardware semiannual markets when required Have flexibility to work in any other temporary assignment as designated by Retail Manager Merchandize retail area LBM, Plumbing & Electrical or Tools & Hardware Create end caps and rotate stock regularly Access returns and customers concerns Answer phones and relay messages as necessary Project a “helpful” image to customers Treat customers as you would like to be treated Receive products into computer system, assist with pricing and store set up Maintain ongoing merchandise of store products Restock and maintain clean retail areas as required Be able to work in a fast paced and constantly changing retail environment.

Ability to train and motivate other staff as needed.

Work two scheduled Saturdays per month as well as evenings.

JOB REQUIREMENTS Minimum of 2 years experience in Retail Sales Required Experience with lumber or hardware related products and services Be able to work in a fast paced and constantly changing retail environment.

Work well independently and with a team.

Ability to train and motivate other staff as needed.

Experience, knowledge & expertise in tools, hardware, plumbing, electrical & HVAC.

Along with building & renovations knowledge.

Motivated, self-starting individual with a strong work ethic Basic computer literacy Be able to work well with others and take direction from senior management Outgoing, personable & honest Strong family values are essential Physically fit – able to stand, walk and assist with 30-50lb packages Organizational skill required MUST, MUST, MUST, like people Ability to listen and understand customers’ needs Enjoy working in a team environment Flexibility in Work Schedule, Store Hours is 7.00 AM to 8.00PM Mon
– Fri and 8.00AM to 5.00PM Sat.
