Manager of Software Engineering

This is a Contract position in Markham, ON posted June 27, 2019.

Own agile development, lead a development team while building high quality software for clients.

Partner with internal and external stakeholders to deliver products and features that satisfies client expectations and needs.

Monitor industry trends, explore, and develop best practice to ensure a market competitive position.

Align to change management in software release planning, application patching, and changes to production configurations.

Lead the continuous improvement of the practice through coaching, mentoring and managing the development team members.

Collaborate across communities of practice, not limited to Architecture, Development, Infrastructure, Support, Product Management and Project Management Office.

Drive best practice for software development that produces high quality work, on schedule and feature complete.

Ensure development aligns to enterprise requirements for governance, regulatory, and compliance.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited institution.

Minimum 5 years of experience in Agile Development practices (TDD, BDD, SCRUM) Demonstrated experience in agile development practices, Scrum preferred.

Strong business acumen and agility within a large, matrixed organization.

Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor teams.

Sound understanding of Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Continuous Deployment.

Familiar with Infrastructure-as-Code and container-based development.
