Job Description:

The person filling this position exudes confidence – relies on their experience gained from a variety of client and internal assignments to develop solutions of varying degrees of difficulties on target is comfortable working independently and/or in a team setting works with Team Lead and other team members to understand business functions, issues, initiatives and design specific requirements for the development is a “performer” – ensuring the job is done and done well with minimal supervision demonstrates proficiency in all aspects of software applications and business processes and is reasonably comfortable in assisting team members on technical matters when necessary is eager to improve their own capabilities (and those of the PeopleSoft Practice to which they are a member) through education, studying for exams and achieving industry certifications spends most of their time delivering services consulting on specific client environments and maintaining broad skills on a particular software application English fluency (excellent oral and written communication skills)

Specific Responsibilities include:

 1)    Project delivery

  • Work with members of the eBusiness, PeopleSoft divisions and client teams to ensure that requirements are understood, timely developed and delivered
  • Suggest technical concepts to address business problems
  • Effectively deal with activities/challenges not encountered in the past
  • Utilize experience and skills to interact with TGT internal team, the peer network or any other source to figure out the most effective approaches to resolve issues
  • Follow accepted TGT methodologies and best practices to ensure success in handling matters
  • Participate design sessions with project stakeholders and IT resources
  • Develop solutions for the team to meet and exceed customer expectations in the delivery of TGT services
  • Create and/or modify the logical, and physical database and/or application design, including the analysis, development and implementation
  • Participate in communications regarding design & development initiatives with developers, business analysts, quality assurance team/individuals, and other relevant groups.
  • Resolve day to day technical issues on assigned projects as well as arising from testing of the developed changes
  • Assist in developing solutions to meet the requirement/design.
  • Unit test solutions
  • Participate & support the System testing of solutions
  • Successfully develop solutions.

 2)    Communication and Support

  • Support the Team Lead, the eBusiness team and Project Manager in liaising with (internal or external) clients to communicate their technical needs during projects
  • Communicate concepts to (internal or external) clients where appropriate

 3)    Business Development

  • Understand the requirements and develop solutions for clients and prospects
  • Identify opportunities to leverage technology in providing value added services
  • Assist in preparing written proposals outlining the recommended changes
  • Participate in demonstrations and presentations to prospects
  • Support the Business Development Division in any other reasonable way as time permits
  • Assist the Team Lead, Project Manager and Business Developer in maintaining solid client relationships

 4)     Planning

  • Assist the Team Lead, and Project Manager in creating ideas to improve the practice or service delivery on a particular engagement

 5)    Other Duties

  • Develop and/or maintain sound PeopleSoft and related vendor toolset knowledge
  • Participate in the design, development and implementation phases of the SDLC as suggested by the Team Lead or Manager

 Qualifications: 

Required:

  • Proven hands-on project experience with PeopleSoft’s development tools and technologies
  • Related University degree or College diploma in Information Technology or a science discipline
  • Three or more years of progressive IT experience in software development, System Integration and consulting
  • Candidates must possess strong hands-on project experience with PeopleSoft’s development tools and technologies including one or more of the following:
  • Experience with the following tools:  People Tools (8.5X or higher) (Application designer, Workflow, Application Engine, PeopleCode, Application Messaging, Integration Broker, Data Mover, Component Interface, and FileLayouts), STAT code migration, 3rd party scheduler and TOAD or similar SQL access tool.
  • Reporting Tools SQR, PSQuery, XML Publisher, Crystal and nVision.

Nice to have:

  •  Understanding of Jira tool and agile methodologies.

 

Mandatory:

  • Experience as Technical Developer in a lead or senior developer capacity on two (2) or more full lifecycle implementations of PeopleSoft 9.x with 3+ years of experience.
  • Handles the systems development life cycle on all development and enhancement projects
  • Assists with project planning, definition, requirements and time & resource estimates
  • Must have an excellent understanding of PS Financials 9.2 – A2R, P2P & C2C (AP, AM, GL, Project Costing & AR) as well as the business processes that are required for each
  • Must be able to discuss and document how proposed changes to the system will affect business process or other involved systems
  • Must exhibit excellence with SQR, PeopleCode, SQL, and PeopleTools and related languages.
  • Must have ability to build design documents based on meetings, or other requirements gathering tools, with analysts and end-users to include requirements as well as design to a level that other programmers can build from it to include Process
  • Must develop test plans for both unit and systems testing to verify completeness and stability of code and how that code will affect the entire production system
  • Must completely document all modifications and be able to maintain systems level documentation
  • Must be able to work in Canada
  • Responsible for helping to develop and maintain departmental systems standards
  • Must support the system when required by troubleshooting issues along with analysts
  • Must be available to provide support to clients outside regular business hours in an on call, pager or over time capacity.
  • Must be able to mentor and evaluate other programmers and analysts
