Senior Business Project Manager

CGI Group

This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted January 17, 2023.

Position Description:

We are currently seeking Project Managers for an exciting engagement with a banking client. In this role, you will work with business stakeholders in product, technology, and operations (including corporate support areas such as AML, KYC, Audit, Compliance), service, and sales (retail branches, digital) to execute on high-profile, complex projects.

As Project Manager, you will use your strong business acumen to directly manage multiple workstreams from ideation thru to implementation. Working on behalf of an executive sponsor/proxy, you will ensure that project goals and objectives are successfully met within scope, budget, time and quality. In addition to establishing and managing an effective governance process, you will be accountable for all project level updates across stakeholder groups.

Job Location – Canada or USA

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Planning the overall project and governance process. Plan, manage and facilitate the successful execution of timelines and milestones
• Establish workstreams within the project. Coordinate with leads and process owners to ensure that activities and deliverables are on track
• Liaise between the program manager, SME’s and impacted stakeholders to ensure project delivery is performing as planned
• Ensure project artifacts, events and milestones adhere to overall scope and objectives
• Prepare project budgets. Manage financial forecasting process at both a project and program level
• Managing risks and issues and taking corrective measurements
• Ensure each project follows the organizations standard procedures
• Facilitate steering committees and other governance events

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Possess 8+ years of PM experience
• Have domain experience and credentials in Financial Services (i.e. retail banking, personal lending and mortgages, payments, and wealth management).
• Can readily convey complex conceptual information; serve as influencer, communicator, and visionary at a level to sufficiently shape the decision-making process.
• Have a proven reputation as Trusted Advisor who excels in driving client engagements, process transformation, and strategic delivery of complex system integrations, digitization solutions, and technology transformations for banking/financial services organizations.
• Are skilled at negotiation and communication and building partnerships, gaining buy-in from key decision-makers, and negotiating win-win outcomes.
• Possess unique capability to speak language of both business and IT and to bridge the gap to accelerate transformation and growth.
• Are finely honed decision-makers, strategic thinkers, relationship-builders
• Are skilled in leading, mentoring, coaching, and motivating high-performing, cross-functional teams.
• Are big-picture business strategists, with solid hands-on tactical execution & management skills.
• Are adept at prioritizing and multi-tasking in ever-changing work environments.
• Are polished presenters, proposal writers, and public speakers.
• Are creative problem-solvers with a positive, can-do spirit.
