CMM Operator/ Quality Inspector

This is a Full-time position in Blandford-Blenheim, ON posted October 31, 2019.

CMM Operator/ Quality Inspector Job Summary: Operation of CMM for parts inspection as required/applicable–GD&T / FAI/PPAP / First offs / in-process Creation of CMM part programs, when / as required Maintain on-going calibration of CMM between outside certifications Train, as applicable, other approved personnel with respect to running existing or newly created CMM programs Daily inspection of Receiving, First offs / in process/ on floor checks and Final inspection of outbound parts using various types of inspection equipment Calibration of employee and company tools / equipment Monitoring of Quarantine area, disposition of product as required Participate in Non–Conformance root cause analysis, corrective / preventive action – External, Internal & Supplier FAI/PPAP documentation.

Capability Studies, Gage R & R, SPC as required Complete Internal audits per schedule Assist in creating and reviewing Work Instructions and Inspection forms Train all new members hired into the department Assist production with new hires in training for measuring parts and visual detection Other tasks as assigned by Supervisor or Manager Provide support to engineering and management on special projects.

Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures Ensure that all business activities are performed with highest ethical standards and in compliance with JGW code of business conduct and in accordance to the JGW Confidentiality Policy Skill Factor: Ability to read blue prints and perform part layouts Ability to operate and program CMM – one-off part inspections and creation of part inspection programs Excellent understanding/application of geometric dimensioning & tolerance Base knowledge of ISO Quality System Basic computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft excel, word Excellent people skills, good communicator both hard and soft skill sets Ability to effectively mentor junior employees to check work or use measurement tools Effort Factors Self starter who works with minimal supervision Reliable and competent Detail oriented Excellent team player Education Grade 12 minimum – or equivalent Post secondary education in Quality Management preferred
