CNC Machinist

ELPA Inc.

This is a Contract position in Lorignal, ON posted January 21, 2023.

We are looking for one or more Precision Machinists-Programmers with experience on 3, 4, 5 axis CNC milling and lathe machines to join our team.

Elpa Inc. is a family owned business for which each individual is an important asset to its success. Located just outside Hawkesbury, Ontario, the company specializes in machining of complex, low-volume parts for the high-tech industry. At ELPA, the machinist is the architect and has all the support he/she needs to carry out its work by providing state-of-the-art machinery and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, drafts, examine part samples to produce good parts;
  • Make and modify G-Code programs;
  • Prepare the tools and fixtures for production;
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances, measure and match the elements to be machined;
  • Machine setups;
  • Design and make fixtures for parts machining;
  • Set, operate and maintain machine tools to perform precision machining;
  • Check, using precision measuring instruments, whether the parts are accurate and compliant with the customer’s

Skills

  • DVS Machining Technics – AVS Machining (or any other combination of training and relevant experience will be considered);
  • Knowledge of TopSolid and/or Surfcam and/or MasterCam softwares;
  • Ability to communicate and interpret technical drawings in both English and French;
  • Experience in machining precision parts;
  • Knowledge of measuring instruments;
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems.

Experience

  • 5-10 years of experience as a machinist/programmer.
