Manufacturing Engineer

Randstad Canada

This is a Contract position in New Tecumseth, ON posted December 2, 2019.

Manufacturing Engineer Alliston, ON In this role you will troubleshoot equipment and processes as well as help improve production line productivity with the use of tooling, layout, lean manufacturing, visual management and ergonomic improvements.

You will be responsible for using your technical skills and knowledge to implement design improvements for existing product sustainability and manufacturability, as well as support the development of project specific design applications.

Some of your specific responsibilities would include
•Managing and improving manufacturing processes and Work Plans
•Creating and managing process documentation
•Establishing and maintaining 5S
•Collecting, compiling and analyzing production data to identify opportunities to improve production processes
•Supporting new product implementation
•Creating and implementing equipment and work cell layouts
•Conducting work flow analysis and implementing improvements in material handling and shop layout
•Identifying manufacturing process improvements to existing processes including
•Completing cost benefit analysis to allow senior evaluation and approval of process improvement strategies
•Determining root causes for failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in design, tolerances or processing methods to avoid re-occurrences
•Developing and monitoring time standards and production efficiencies
•Working with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, productions schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production process The experience you bring
•Post-secondary degree in Engineering
•2-3 years of work experience as a Manufacturing Engineer
•Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written
•PLC Programming Knowledge
•AutoCAD Knowledge
– capable of developing 2D layouts
•Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, product and process design
