– Vancouver, BC Status: Casual Start Date: As soon as possible Salary: $29.06 per hour Hours: Various Reference: 144787-cye Come work as a Psychiatric Worker with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Psychiatric Worker with a degree in Behavioural Science to join the team at Joseph & Rosalie Segal & Family Health Centre in Vancouver, BC.

Apply today to join our team As a Psychiatric Worker with VCH you will: Provide specific aspects of psychiatric assessment and therapeutic care to clients with mental health needs, and establishes client/family needs above all other concerns.

Contribute to the development, implementation and revision of client care plans including: participating in ward rounds/meetings as required conducting observation rounds to ensure the safety of clients and staff recording and communicating client behaviours identifying the need for intervention administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to established protocols Participate in in-service education, respond to general inquiries, transport and accompany clients who are considered unsafe to be alone, assist with admissions, and provide personal care to clients when necessary under the direction of nursing staff.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Graduation from a recognized degree program in Behavioural Science.

One year’s recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge & Abilities Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Ability to deal with others effectively.

Ability to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.

Ability to organize work.

Ability to operate related equipment.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.

Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
