Business Developer

As a Business Developer, your role is combines marketing, Account Management and sales in a unique and innovative way. Reporting to the Business Development Manager, this position requires a self-motivated individual who is confident making appointments, meeting and communicating “the TGT story”. 


Key Responsibilities  


  • willing to learn about TGT and its offerings and articulate in his/her own words
  • contributes to the creation of materials to be used for marketing purposes
  • assists with the identification of target markets within designated geographical area
  • participates in selecting qualified prospects from a variety of sources
  • qualifies feasibility of potential clients based on TGT’s criteria
  • develops the quarterly marketing plan for the designated geographical area in conjunction with the Business Development Manager, which details activities to follow with a view to meet organizational objectives
  • executes or assist in executing the marketing plan


Account Management:

  • is willing and able to maintain and foster good relations with existing clients
  • provides timely feedback to TGT’s management team regarding all account activity
  • controls expenses to meet budget guidelines 


  • develops a sales plan for the market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability in conjunction with the Business Development Manager
  • is creative and sees a way to offer TGT’s value to prospects and existing clients
  • seeks appointments with qualified prospects and existing clients
  • is prepared to write to, call and visit prospects
  • secures and develops new accounts by effectively presenting TGT’s value added services and benefits to potential clients in person or over the phone
  • obtains pertinent information concerning prospects
  • enters new customer data and other sales data for prospective clients into TGT Client database
  • works with other TGT teams to identify the needs and wants of each potential client
  • develops and maintains positive on-going relationships with all prospects and clients
  • collaborates with other TGT teams to problem-solve and provide optimal service performs related duties as assigned by the Business Development Manager
  • assists with, and from time to time, leads the effort to prepare proposals, presentations and respond to Requests for Proposals

Mandatory Education and Skills: 

  • University degree in business or a related field
  • 2+ years corporate sales experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Client focused, relationship builder with exceptional interpersonal skills
