Business Integration Engineer

Irving, Limited group of companies, we have been building quality vessels and fabricated modules for more than 50 years, and our Halifax Shipyard has been at the forefront of Canadian shipbuilding for 130 years.

Since 2012, we have invested more than $400 million in facilities, people, processes, and technology, making Halifax Shipyard one of the most modern and capable shipyards in North America.

Over the next 30 years our shipbuilders will construct 20 modern patrol ships and surface combatants for the Royal Canadian Navy as part of Canada’s National Shipbuilding Strategy, the largest defence procurement in Canadian history.

This year, we delivered the lead Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ship, the largest Navy ship built in Canada in 50 years and we’re just getting started.

The second ship will be delivered in 2021.

Our workforce of over 2,000 will grow to more than 2,800 at peak construction of the Canadian Surface Combatants.

We have built more than 80% of Canada’s current combatant fleet and continue to perform maintenance and modernization work on the ships, including the Halifax-class frigates.

is seeking a Business Integration Engineer
– 6 month term.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia.

The primary language of work is English.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Process or Industrial Preferred), Computer Science, or equivalent.

• 5-8 years of relevant work experience
• Knowledge of process flow and optimization
• Proficient using Microsoft Suite.

SQL VBA an asset.

• Familiarity with Alteryx, Tableau desktop and Servers is an asset
• Familiarity with ERP Systems.

Experience with Aveva ERM is an asset
• Critical thinking/Adaptability/Attention to detail
• Shipbuilding/Planning experience is an asset All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S.

International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Key Responsibilities: Analyze and Develop Processes
• Review existing processes and develop improvements (quality, efficiency, cost, etc.)
• Develop new processes and ensure compliance with those already existing within ISI.

• Gather requirements from functional departments to support dashboard and report development by the BII team.

• Develop continuous improvement channels for potential process revisions (Application Change, Requests, Process Change Requests, etc.)
• Build and maintain certification infrastructure for Alteryx and Tableau outputs Report Results
• Present findings to functional departments and increase awareness of standard processes
• Socialize newly developed dashboards, reports, and tools with business representatives Awareness and Training Support
• Consolidate process maps, training documents, etc.

• Work with functional departments to ensure understanding of upstream and downstream impacts.

General Support
• Assist with the rollout departmental goals that aligns to overall business goals.

• Develop skills using Tableau and Alteryx to support report/tool development
• May assist with general knowledge sharing amongst team or cross functionally
• May provide support with reports and interpreting data
• Identify measures to ensure accountability is upheld and incident occurrences are reduced in numbers and severity What We Offer:
