Public relations and marketing Manager

Reporting to the marketing and communications director, the public relations and marketing Manager is responsible for coordinating projects to both protect and promote the brand within the market of Ontario.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily media monitoring and reporting on key issues
  • Manage initiatives/projects that impact external stakeholders, partners and customers
  • Build and cultivate strong media relationships
  • Manage the local media and advertising buying
  • Provide PR campaign support, including on-site support to any events
  • Coordinate the promotional strategy specifically for the Ontario market
  • Support external agency relationships/negotiations and ensure the implementation of the projects on-budget and on-time
  • Organize press conferences, site visits and other media-related events for the company
  • Create internal stories to promote PR success, leveraging internal communications channels
  • Participate in collaboration with the marketing team on proactive and reactive planning on social media
  • Manage dashboard analytics, media and influencer monitoring
  • Measures competition benchmark and PR campaign results; then coordinate internal status

 

Required profile

  • University degree in one of the following disciplines: Communications or Journalism or post-graduate diploma or certification in Public Relations from an accredited institution
  • 5-8 years of experience in public relations: can be a combination of agency and corporate public relations retail knowledge (experience in project coordination)
  • Experience in partnership deals and in event planning
  • Bilingual (English and French) written and oral abilities an asset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent research skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
