Field Service Technician

We have a portfolio of products and capabilities serving the hydrogen and energy markets of today and tomorrow.We’re currently seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to work independently at various customer sites to support them with their operational and technical needs.  When you’re not on a customer site, you will provide technical telephone support and support in-house testing of new equipment.  If that sounds like the kind of challenge, you’re ready for, we want to hear from you.Field Service TechnicianAs our newest Filed Service Technician, your work will be integral to the success of our business and clients.  You will utilize your specific technical experience with gaseous hydrogen and mono-polar and bipolar electrolytic hydrogen production equipment to ensure our clients operation equipment is running smoothly.From preparing quotes to working on equipment, training customers, designing modifications and supervising contractors you’ll have a hand in every step of the technical customer service piece.You’ll possess knowledge and experience with troubleshooting hydrogen re-fueling stations, including dispensers, control panels, compressors and nozzles.  You’re also an expert in interpreting electrical schematics and are familiar with ASME codes and standards.Practically speaking you’ll also…* Interface with customers daily and meet their operational/technical needs.* Prepare quotes, long term proposals, submit for approval and follow up.* Work on low & high voltage equipment including rectifiers, motors, relays, compressors and PLC’s.* Train customer on fueling 5000 and 10000 psi hydrogen vehicle dispensers.* Independently troubleshoot onsite equipment with customer observing.* Work on leak test high pressure hydrogen gas lines (up to 15,000 psi).* Handle hazardous liquid chemicals such as sulfuric acid and potassium hydroxide.* Design modifications to equipment and submit proposals.* Travel to the USA and internationally.* Supervise contractors to ensure work performed per customer and code specifications.The DetailsThis is a full time, permanent role located in Mississauga, working Monday through Friday.  You will need to occasionally be available 24/7 for customers through mobile phone and email.We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience. We have a graduated vacation policy where you can earn up to 6 weeks of vacation after several years of service.Qualifications* Experience working with gaseous hydrogen at high pressure and possess a TSSA Hydrogen License* Experience in field service with mono-polar and bipolar electrolytic hydrogen producing equipment* Experience in start-up, troubleshooting, maintaining and training customers in the operation of hydrogen re-fueling stations; including 5K and 10K dispensers, gas control panel, compressors, booster nozzles and SAE J2601* Experience in the engineering field, including reading P&ID’s, electrical schematics, PFD, ASME boiler code, ASME B31.3* Experience in Electrical troubleshooting for 24VDC, 120VAC, 220VAC, 480VAC and 600VAC equipment including motors, breaker, relays* Experience in programming in Allen Bradley, Siemens S7, GE Fanuc, Profibus & DeviceNet* Strong aptitude in mechanical skills specific to gas piping and compressor repairs* Experience with Fuel Cells (asset)* Bilingual in French, Spanish or German (asset)* Post-Secondary in Electro Mechanical, Electro Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical disciplines* P.
