Maintenance Specialist

Fantastic,  local opportunity in Simcoe County!  We are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Specialist, with experience in the manufacturing sector, to support a progressive manufacturer in Stayner, ON. This is a one-year contract with great prospects of leading to permanent for the right candidate.
 
As the Facilities Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for maintenance and basic repairs for manufacturing buildings, as well as support the facilities team with general maintenance tasks.

• 7:30am – 4:00pm (Mon – Fri)
• $38.00/hour
• Benefits
• 1 year contract (potential for permanent)

• State-of-the-art manufacturing facility    

What you’ll be doing:

• Carry out day-to-day maintenance and repairs (plumbing, electrical, mechanical, structural)
• Perform repairs and/or replace defective parts using hand tools and power tools and reassemble equipment
• Install, maintain and repair  automated manufacturing equipment
• Install, maintain, or repair equipment and fixtures in accordance with manufacturer specifications and local codes (changing belts, bleeding boilers, light fixtures)
• Promote GMP compliance
• Support the facilities team with general building maintenance tasks
• Efficient time management with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
• Strong work ethic with ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Perform other related duties as assigned

You’ll need to have:

• 3 – 5+ year’s practical experience (ie: Millwright or Millwright Apprentice, Industrial Mechanic, Facilities Maintenance, Journeyman or Registered Apprentice or similar)
• Previous work in a manufacturing setting highly preferred
• Expert use of all manner of mechanical and hand tools
• Electrical experience, understanding of codes
• Forklift license would be an asset.
• Verbal communication skills, and experience working in a team
• Previous health and safety and/or first aid training is an asset
• Valid driver’s license
• Able to supply Clear Criminal Record Check
