This job is permanent, full-time.

Maintenance Millwright Apprentice (3rd or 4th Year), Atikokan SawmillResolute Forest Products is seeking candidates for the position of Maintenance Millwright Apprentice at the 3rd or 4th year level.

The Atikokan Sawmill is one of the most technologically advanced sawmill and planer operations in North America and is located at Sapawe, Ontario.The Maintenance Millwright Apprentice reports to the Maintenance Supervisor, and is directly responsible to provide safe maintenance, repair, installation and modification of all sawmill related equipment.

Your challenges:Participate in safety programs and ensure the application of our safety standards for all maintenance operationsYou have a commitment to work in a safe productive manner to maximize quality and production while minimizing production, maintenance costs and unscheduled downtimeTroubleshoot equipment failures and perform necessary repairsCollaborate with Production and Maintenance personnel with daily operation activitiesUtilize the Maintenance Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for processing work orders, weekly schedules, PM’s, and updating the equipment database; Perform periodic inspections of equipment and systems to observe operating condition and need for repair or adjustmentYou will apply your excellent organizational skills to maximize uptime, quality and productionExecute preventative maintenance activities including troubleshooting and repairs to all sawmill equipment, hydraulic systems, conveyors, and pumps in a timely mannerCommunicate updates to supervisor to maintain goalsShift work will be requiredYour team:Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be part of a results-oriented team whose members are encouraged to exceed expectations.Your profile:Industrial or Construction Mechanic/Millwright Apprentice2 to 3 years’ experience in related industrial environmentYour assets and skillsExcellent communication (verbal & written), organizational, andinterpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and within a diverse trades team environmentExceptional mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting skillsSupport continuous improvement and contribute to cost savings initiativesMS Office, and Computer Maintenance Management Software computer skillsA self-motivated individual who will work towards Reliability ExcellenceOther trade certificates and experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and welding or other related experience in the wood product industry will be consideredA two-year Industrial Mechanics/Engineering Diploma or equivalent will be an assetKnowledge of sawmill and planer mill equipmentPossess a strong safety focus and exceptional safety recordOnly selected candidates will be contacted.Our new Atikokan Sawmill is located at Sapawe, On which is located 30km east of Atikokan.
