• Interfacing with production and maintenance departments in providing guidance and support regarding process problems.
• Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, recommending changes to materials, method or processes.
• Create Equipment specifications related to the Assembly and other manufacturing processes and subsequent participation in the procurement process of equipment.
• Conduct validation of new equipment, fixturing and tooling for production use.
• Initiate and support process improvements related to the Manufacturing Processes.
• Support in the generation and updates of related Quality System documentation (PFMEA’s, Control Plans, PM’s, etc.)
• Manage individual projects that can range from Process Design Improvement to Scrap reduction.
• Perform basic to intermediate troubleshooting of various assembly equipment such as torque drivers and vision systems.Requirements:
• University Degree (BS) or College Diploma in an Engineering Program.
• Experience in a manufacturing plant as a process engineer in the automotive industry
• Ability to create and maintain process documentation such as Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan, TPM and PM schedules
• Strong demonstrated mechanical aptitude
• Familiarity of Safety Standards and regulations such as Pre-Start Health and Safety reviews.
• Fluent in MS Office
• Strong data analysis skills for problem solving
• Ability to travel outside of Canada if needed (typically Michigan, USA, Japan)Preferred QualificationsPreferences:
• Understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection moulding thermoplastics, aluminum brazing, manual/automated assembly.
• AutoCAD and or SolidWorks Experience
• Knowledge or experience in MSA
• Previous experience with Toyota Production System (TPS) Principles
• P Eng.
