The OpportunityResponsible for providing quality workmanship, consistent service, and technical knowledge to the customers.Performs all tasks related to the testing, diagnosing, repair, maintenance, and reconditioning of Power Generation units (gasoline, diesel, and natural gas) engine components typically on-site at customer location or in the shop.The RoleWhere required tests, measures, and verifies electrical component operations, including energized components and electrical fields; conducts building transfer tests to confirm correct operation of transfer switches, breakers, and generatorInspect and diagnose components and generator sets/rental units for servicingCommunicate with generator owners for authorization of servicing and repairs as required.Service and repair generators in the shop and on-site for theRecondition and re-manufacture components as required for controllers and engines repairs.Establish and maintain strong working relationships withCommunicate equipment servicing needs as required with Branch Supervisor/Manager.Communicate work performed and complete serviceAble to work with A/C & D/C systemsPreform monthly, semi-annual, annual, load testing as per CSA-282-15Work with high & low voltage and red single lineUpdate and maintain service recordsFill out warranty informationParticipate in manufacturers’ and in house service Training may occur during work and/or after work hours.Participate in all required Health & SafetyComply with the Health & Safety program andPerformance of daily duties in a manner conducive to a safeWork with Manufacturers onlineConduct housekeeping dutiesMaintain a professional company image at allMeet requirements of Field Level Hazard and Job Hazard assessmentsThe CandidateEducation: Trade certification, Journeyman Red Seal and/or currently registered in a related Provincial Apprenticeship program, Power Generation Experience/Heavy Equipment TechnicianWork Experience: 2-3 yearsKnowledge: Proficient written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to work with customers, exceptional customer service; demonstrated mechanicalaptitude, analysis and problem solving skillsThe CompanySince 1858, Wajax has been serving major Canadian industries as one of the nation’s leading mobile equipment, power systems, and industrial products and services providers.
