Waste treatment/tank maintenance technician

Magna International

This is a Full-time position in Richmond Hill, ON posted October 6, 2019.

Major Responsibilities Trained to meet all aspects of job description in Waste Water/Tank Maintenance and Wet Lab Make chemical additions.

Conduct temperature checks.

Clean plating tanks.

Perform treatments on plating solutions.

Perform general maintenance on filters and tanks.

Must be able to run all plating hoists.

Ensure proper housekeeping within Polybrite.

Assist in weekend maintenance/cleaning and adding anodes.

Assist in crane/hoist PMs.

Maintain basic equipment related to their job.

Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.

Maintain the stability and reputation of the organization by complying with the legal and waste management requirements.

Responsible for proper storage, handling and disposal of all chemicals, used materials and equipment.

Knowledge and Education Grade 12 education or equivalent with a background in chemistry.

Work Experience Minimum 1-3 years manufacturing experience, experience working with chemicals.

Chrome plating on plastic experience preferred.

Skills and Competencies Spill Response, TDG and Safe Chemical Handling training required.

Physical Requirements Must be able to consistently lift up to 25 kg’s.

Working verbal, written and reading English comprehension skills.

First Aid Training, Forklift Training and current license required.

Must be able to pass Pulmonary Function Testing.

Work Environment This position is Continental Shift, must be available to work flexible days and/or nights.

Grade 12 education or equivalent with a background in chemistry (preferred).

1-3 years manufacturing experience, experience working with chemicals preferred.

Spill Response, TDG, Safe Chemical Handling training Basic working knowledge of computers and Lotus Notes, Trans4M software.

Forklift License required Must be able to consistently lift up to 25 kg’s.

Strong verbal and written English communication skills.

First Aid training preferred.

Must be able to pass pulmonary testing.

Must be available to work both Continental Nights and Continental Days as required.
